| Released from its pylon under the wing of a Swedish
"Viggen" fighter, the RB 05A uses active radar guidance to home in on ground
targets more than 20 miles away, and is claimed to be effective against certain airborne
targets (helicopters?) as well. The RB 05A is capable of reaching speeds in excess
of Mach 2.5. SAAB also used this airframe for an experimental, television guided
version, the RB 05B, but the Swedish government chose to buy Maverick instead, and the RB
